Rohit Bals theme for the WIFW grand finale, is as offbeat as always.Sunil Sethi says, From the creative
badmaash of the VHIMW, Gudda is now going to strut on the ramp as a proud golden peacock.
Guddas collection for the WIFW finale is going to remind all of Indias lost glory and resplendent past. Called Yasas, from the Sanskrit word yashasya, meaning glory, Guddas collection, as his collection note says, is inspired by the resplendent glory of Indias rich cultural heritage.
It reflects the splendour and grandeur of the Golden Peacock, a name India was once known by, the glamour and inherent luxury that India once was a part of. Going back and digging deep into the archives of ancient Indian costumes, pre-Mughal and Mughal, the textiles, the colours and the embroideries are in fact a journey into the past of this magnificent culture or era.
Gudda himself says, Its a fantastic time to do the finale, and I think its great that all the three factions have come together, everyone is in the right frame of mind, and were all happy. This is a fairly exhilarating feeling for me. I dont see any splits happening in the future, because weve all learnt our lessons. This is the fifth finale I am doing, and I think I need to get some sort of a Nobel prize for it now!
He added, That said, a finale is a finale and a great honour. For me, this is a triumph. Because, a) this is with FDCI, which was founded by us, were the founder members, and when you create something, youre always close to it and want to be a part of it; b) Im back with the finale which is even better; c) the association with FDCI, Wills and Showhouse, is like a multi-faceted triumph for me. How I will make clothes only God knows, but its a great feeling!
